Question 5 Evaluation

After handing out feedback questionnaires and gathering the responses back we have achieved reaching our target audience. When we asked if our film relates the age certificate of 15+ 5/7 responses were ‘Yes’ with one response ‘Possibly’ and one ‘No’.
In order to do this we added expletive language to the script and added violence into some parts of the product. The audience also responded with saying ‘Yes’ to the genre being psychological horror and ‘Yes’ to understanding the storyline.

We had lot more feedback that commented on more of our successes. For example, one response identified how we used a variety of shots (i.e long shot, medium close up, medium shot, medium long shot, establishing shot). We also got a response commenting on the success of our sound effects such as the bang, and the knife stab. This adds violence and tension to the film which helps create the enthralling experience for the audience that psychological horrors should do.

We also asked if the audience thought our location was appropriate. They agreed it was. The reason we used this was because the dark setting created fear for the audience which is intended to be transmitted to the audience.
However, there were improvements that could be made. A few comments were made about the jump cuts we did when making the drinks. They did not understand the concept of it therefore next time, we will make sure to complete them to a more successful level. Surprisingly, a couple of comments were made regarding disliking the knife scene. In the future, we could put emphasis on this scene as it was very brief. This would add more violence to our opening part of the film and add even more support to our genre and create a more psychological horror experience for the audience.
