Risk Assessment

AS Media Risk Assessment

Someone drops the camera
1. Pick up the camera and move it away from any roads or footpaths
2. Check the camera and make sure nothing is broken off, if there are broken parts move these to a safe area as well
3. Report the incident to the teacher

Someone falls over while filming
1. Make sure that the person who fell over is fine, make sure they have not broken any bones or injured themselves in any other way
2. Make sure they are not in the middle of the road. Sit them away from the road and footpaths
3. If help is needed the call for help and in extreme cases ring for an ambulance
4. Make sure if they had the camera on them that someone picks it up and makes sure it is away safe

Cables left on the floor or suspended
1. Make sure that all cables are put away safely
2. Make sure that everyone knows where the cables are so that no one will trip over themselves and injure their self

Broken glass on the floor
1. Make sure everyone knows where the glass is so that no one walks over it
2. Carefully clean up the glass making sure that there is none left over
3. If anyone is cut by the glass get them a bandage and clean their wound

Filming in a dark room
1. Make sure torches are on hand or miniature lights so that people can see where they are going when not filming.
2. Make sure people know where the camera is so that it is not knocked over by accident

Filming on the roads
1. Make sure that when filming there are no cars around.
2. Make sure that we film on a quiet road will little traffic to minimize risks

Someone hit by a car
1. Make sure to move them away from the road
2. Call for an ambulance
3. Make sure their parents or guardian is aware

Props
1. Make sure all props are stored away when not in use
2. When using a knife as a prop make sure they are holding it properly and not messing around
3. Use a fake knife instead of a real one so that no one can be injured

Carrying large/heavy equipment
1. When carrying the camera make sure it is packed safely
2. Make sure two people are carrying heavy props so that they are not dropped and broken
3. Make sure that the floor is clear when carrying objects to minimise the risk of tripping/falling over
